I almost didn’t post this comic but I felt I should since it is part of the history of the comic and it is also the part of the inspiration for tomorrow’s comic. I originally had a thick black rounded border around this comic and decided that I liked the look of just the rough painted edges better. I guess I don’t like being put in a box. That was a comment I had from a preschool teacher. “Brian doesn’t like staying within the lines.” I didn’t remember it but my mom remembers. Moms always remember.

This is the first comic that I did with the new style. After I created it, I realized that I prefer working with the larger size comic template that I created for liltoon. So this was going to be the one and only liltoon this size until I entered the Amazon.com and Universal UClick contest. Now I have 10 comics done this size. It feels weird going smaller after getting used to the larger size. If I don’t get to the final 10, I plan to show both versions of the comics, larger and smaller sizes.

I tried to originally work in Adobe Illustrator because I could easily move those over to Flash to animate since they are both vector programs, but ultimately, I returned to Photoshop. I just feel more comfortable drawing there. The lines don’t feel as mechanical. So I’ll just have to live with the fact that any animation that I do with liltoon will look different from the strips. Which is okay. You always look better on television, right?

The scene is the set of Liltoon.
Louis: Guess what, Lil, I'm learning to be a ventriloquist.
Lil, Really, Louis?
Louis: Watch this. I'll talk and you won't be able to see my mouth move.
Lil: Cool.
Louis: (Covering mouth) Fourscore and seven years ago…
Lil: Oh, you rascal.
